Founded in 1913, the IALC has nearly 8000 members in 68 clubs in 17 countries and two hemispheres. It is neutral in matters of religion and politics and brings together all the national federations in the countries where Lyceum clubs are present. Its headquarters are in Zurich, where the international archives are also kept, and it uses three official languages: French, English and German.
